Grape & Grain Now Hiring

We are a Winnipeg retail business specializing in selling wine and beer kits, equipment, and supplies. Our specialty is beer making, with a focus on ingredients and supplies. Another feature of our store is the “On Site” production of customer made wines and beer. Our hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, usually 10 am to 6 pm, although this has been modified for Covid at the present time.

We are seeking a friendly courteous individual for a part time position for weekends, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts during the week. There is a future possibility of full-time hours as the business continues to develop.

Grape & Grain Product Consultant Skills required:
  • Retail and customer service experience

  • Home brewing experience

  • Knowledge of various types/styles of wine, beer, cider, and mead.

  • Light cleaning duties

  • Professional and personable demeanor

  • Able to work weekends

  • Able to lift 55 pounds repeatedly

  • Familiarity with social media

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Knowledge of cheeses and cheesemaking an asset

 

Position Responsibilities:
  • Handling customer transactions in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Handling customer inquiries and troubleshooting brewing procedures.

  • Light cleaning duties, store maintenance, grounds maintenance.

  • Stocking Inventory, unpacking orders, pricing merchandise.

  • General Merchandising, setting up displays, keeping a presentable retail store.

  • Making wine and beer, assisting customers starting batches in store, assisting customer bottling batches in store.

  • Updating social media channels with content, news, and specials.

  • Packaging and labelling in house products.

 

Starting Wage is $13.00/hr. Benefits include a generous staff discount at both Grape & Grain and GameKnight Games. Dress code is casual.

This would be a great position for someone who is already partially employed, retired, or semi-retired, who is looking to supplement their income. It would be especially of interest to someone who is actively brewing beer or wine as a hobby. If you enjoy different wines and craft beers this will help further expand your knowledge and appreciation of those.
